The premise is polluted by the influence of power. With the societal limitations put on innovation by large corporations that control innovation by their own internal goals and the arrogance of fat cats in government who are motivated by pensions and hypochondria addiction, the room for real innovation is almost hopeless, unless you are in that class. That's right folks the social class of the bureaucrats that have nothing to gain or lose other than their own paycheck. Work in either institution an you soon learn to "stop that", when innovation comes to you from within or without. In government the reply, is " You kidding. Not here." In corporate world. "Is that on our agenda?" Dare that anyone should rock the boat. Especially in these times when these clowns have already exported their own jobs. It just hasn't caught up with them yet. In these settings the rule is, " Any new idea is useless, unless the boss thought of it. If he thought of it it must be good. Just ask him."
The price of energy should naturally invoke motivation to create new solutions. after all, " necessity is the mother of invention." Price creates the necessity to conserve expensive resources. But in Corporate America, it is an opportunity to create an inflationary environment, which allows the corporation to increase price and therefore profits. "He who does not know history is doomed to repeat it."
Non sense. Get the power to the creative and let the problems be solved. " Government is there to do what we cannot do as a collective. They are our representatives to get our job done. Corporations are PAC men designed to eat the world. Inventors are folks who see problems in advance and have the ability to dream the process to solution. To quote Peter Drucker, " Solutions are easy. It's the problem that we have to recognize."
