• A West-Flemish cooperative for sustainable energy is the first to secure an excise exemption for the production of rapeseed oil. Until now the farmers themselves to trade the oil.
    Now a cooperative can also obtain excise exemptions allowing to bring the energy to a larger market. At this moment rapeseed oil will cost 1 euro per litre, while diesel will cost 1.5 euros. Cars needs to be adapted in order to let them run on this energy. This will cost between 1,500 and 2,000 euros.

About 7,357 tons of fat and oil was collected, which is an average of 2 kilograms per family with a deep fryer.
