Mid-term elections are just around the corner in the United States.  With less than a month of campaigning left, candidates are starting to pull out all the stops to show they are the best fit to represent their state.

In his latest ad campaign, West Virginia Democratic Senate candidate and current Governor, Joe Manchin takes out a rifle to get his point across.  In the ad, Manchin loads his rifle, before saying, "I will take dead aim at the cap and trade bill."  He then shoots a bullet into a cap and trade bill pinned on to a target, and adds emphatically, "Because it's bad for West Virginia."

In recent weeks, the Democrat-sponsored climate bill, which has been taken off the table in the Senate, has received a renewed boost of support from the Obama administration.

Manchin has long been an outspoken critic to his party's proposed energy bills.  Ironically, this has been lost on his Republican opponent, John Reese, who has been running ads which imply Governor Manchin supports cap and trade and will "rubber stamp" President Obama's energy legislation.
