Getting people to understand energy efficiency, especially the massive opportunity that exists in the residential building sector, is one of Energy Circle’s core missions. As such, we’re big fans of clever, creative communications that spread the message broadly and use all the available channels.
Video is one of the best, evident in the remix of Bill McKibben’s tongue in cheek Washington Post op-ed from October. His frustration and sense of urgency are magnified in this powerful video, an exemplary communication of the reprehensible tone and level of discourse among decision-makers surrounding the connection between increasingly common extreme weather events and climate change.
There are many reasons to take action to mitigate climate change, and just as many ways to lower your carbon footprint. In the United States, buildings account for nearly 40% of total carbon emissions, and the United Nations has called domestic housing the “most important single source of greenhouse gases.”
We at Energy Circle are passionate about the role of efficiency in climate change mitigation strategies (and national security, and energy affordability, and sticking it to your utility, and having a healthier home, and …) and are excited to help you turn your home into part of the solution.
