On November 30, 2010, The Ecologist published the above video in association with a story titled US natural gas drilling boom linked to pollution and social strife. Please take the time to watch it and think about the implications of a vastly expanded effort to frack our way into the future. This often touted "bridge" to a renewable energy utopia is a bridge to nowhere and distracts us from the admittedly difficult, but important task of building an energy infrastructure that enables use to use atomic heat sources - fuels like uranium, plutonium and thorium - that are essentially inexhaustible and emission-free.

Natural gas is not as clean or as cheap as its shills would like you to believe.
