CNN and YouTube conducted a live climate change debate in Copenhagen on December 15 at 8 a.m. EST. World leaders, activists, and leading thinkers debated the top-ranked video questions submitted by people from around the world.

Fortunately, the panelists, including former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, journalist Thomas Friedman, U.N. Executive Secretary Yvo de Boer and author Bjorn Lomborg, all have a pretty good grasp of the major climate debates and the political and other obstacles to solving it.

Video of the debate will also be projected onto the very cool CO2 Cube, a 3-story art installation now residing in the center of Copenhagen, built to represent one metric ton of carbon:

If the standard quality of discourse on YouTube is any indicator of what the climate change debate will look like on Tuesday morning, don’t expect to be blown away with newfound enlightenment by the time it all comes to an end. Remember the YouTube/CNN presidential debates?
