The Canadian Renewable Fuels Association issued a report predicting that the demand for biodiesel will double in six years while supply will triple.
Thirty countries that now blend biodiesel with B5 are starting to creep upward. Several European countries are exploring B7. Brazil is considering higher blends and Indonesia is looking at B10. This year, developing countries needed 17 percent of biodiesel demand and had nearly 50 percent of the worldwide supply — those numbers are predicted to increase to 42.6 percent of biodiesel demand and 59.2 percent of international supply by 2015. The demand in developing countries will be earmarked for use within that country.
