Casey Talon is a Senior Research Analyst at IDC Energy Insights. She leads the group’s Smart Building Strategies research advisory service.
Ms. Talon's research efforts focus on Smart Building technologies and the associated policy, regulatory, and business developments driving this market. She also collaborates with other IDC Energy Insights analysts on custom research and client communications for the Energy Insights' utility IT strategies and smart grid strategies services.

Ms. Talon graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She then completed a Geographic Information Systems Graduate Certificate, also from the University of Wisconsin. Ms. Talon received her MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. Prior to joining IDC, she worked as a consultant at a greenhouse gas emission reduction firm specializing in GHG accounting, policy and market research. In support of her research focus on the buildings market, she has fulfilled the eligibility requirements and has attained the LEED Green Associate credential.
