Neil has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Glasgow University (1984) and a Master of Science in Exploration Geophysics from Leeds University (1985).
Since joining Shell International in 1986 he has worked internationally in Exploration, Petroleum Engineering, New Ventures, Commercial, M&A and LNG/Integrated Gas.
He spent the first decade of his career in technical roles (initially as a geophysicist, subsequently leading large technical projects and teams) and the latter part in commercial leadership roles.
Most recently he led the PetroChina Strategic Alliance (2008-2009), the Upstream International restructuring team (2009), and the Shell Floating LNG Programme (2010-12).
In 2013, Neil became Vice President Development in Shell’s new Integrated Gas organization. As well as new business development Neil’s role also includes overseeing the innovation programmes for LNG, Floating LNG and Gas to Liquids, and Shell’s upstream venture in Indonesia.
