Where our numbers come from
Every number in an article links to its source, right where you read it. We lean on the agencies that measure energy for a living, like the US Energy Information Administration and the International Energy Agency, and for gear we go to the makers’ own spec sheets.
Each article shows the date it was last updated. When the numbers change, we update the article and that date.
Buying guides
Our buying guides compare products on published specs and current prices. When a guide cites hands-on testing, it names the outlet that ran the test, and we never claim a test we didn’t run.
Links in the buying guides may be affiliate links, so we can earn a commission if you buy through one, at no extra cost to you. No company pays to get a product into a guide.
Corrections
If we got something wrong, tell us through the contact page with the page and the problem. We fix confirmed errors fast and note any significant correction on the article.
