This page explains what information theenergycollective.com collects and what you can do about it.
What we collect
When you use the contact form, the form asks for your name and email address, plus your message. They’re stored in our website’s database and sent to our inbox so we can reply.
When you sign up for the newsletter, your email address goes to EmailOctopus, the service that sends our emails. The sign-up form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam signups, so Google receives information about your device and browser when you use the form. If EmailOctopus can’t be reached, we keep your address in our website’s database and add it to the list later. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
When you read the site, we use Clicky, an analytics service, to count visits. It records the pages you view, the site that sent you and general details like your browser, device and approximate location based on your IP address. Clicky may use a cookie to recognize a return visit. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, and our web host keeps standard server logs for security.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t run ads. We only use your email address to reply to you or to send the newsletter you asked for.

How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept as long as we need them to handle your request, then deleted. Newsletter addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe. Clicky keeps analytics data under its own retention settings.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in any email. If you’re in the EU, the UK or California, local privacy law gives you these rights, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority. To make a request, use the contact page.
Children
The site isn’t aimed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
